Branch school Pružatovac

The school in Pružatovac has a tradition that goes back more than a century and a half. Classes began in this place in 1872, and a school building with two classrooms was built in 1911. According to more recent school data, the building in use today was built in 1979.

For decades, the school has been an important place of education, socialization and gathering for children and families from Pružatovac. It organizes classes for younger students, as well as the work of the preschool group, which makes the school building of particular importance for the life of the local community. Official school documents list two classrooms, a space for the preschool group and a teacher's office.

Due to the dilapidated condition of the building, part of the school became unsafe and out of service over time. The school lacked proper heating, and access to the old toilets was through a risky part of the building. A major renovation was carried out in 2025 as part of the "Work with Tamar" campaign.

During the works, an unsafe part of the building was removed, new toilets for students and employees were built, and a heating system with a heat pump was installed. The carpentry was replaced, a new facade was built, and two classrooms, a space for the preschool group, and the assembly hall were completely renovated. The school received new floors, ceilings, lighting, and furniture, while the schoolyard and fence were also renovated.

The renovated school today provides brighter, safer and more functional conditions for children to learn and stay. Thanks to the joint efforts of the school, parents, locals, local government and donors, it has gained new life and remains an important place of knowledge, growth and community in Pružatovac.
