Student parliament

The Student Parliament represents the voice of students in school life. It allows students to express their opinions, launch initiatives, propose activities, and participate in the discussion of issues that are important for their education, safety, and daily life at school.

Through the work of the parliament, students develop responsibility, independence, a culture of dialogue and the ability to make joint decisions. They learn to listen to different opinions, explain their proposals, cooperate with peers and employees, and actively contribute to a more pleasant atmosphere at school.

Composition and method of operation

The Student Parliament consists of two representatives from each seventh and eighth grade class. Representatives are elected by the students of their class communities at the beginning of each school year, and the elected members of the parliament elect a president from among themselves. The work program of the Student Parliament is an integral part of the school's Annual Work Plan.

The Parliament also elects two student representatives who attend School Board meetings and participate in its work without the right to vote. In this way, students are given the opportunity to be informed about important issues related to the work of the school and to present the views of their peers.

The role of the Student Parliament

The Student Parliament discusses the relationships between students, teachers and professional associates, the school atmosphere and other issues important to students. It can send its opinions and proposals to the principal, the School Board, the Parents' Council and the school's professional bodies.

Through the parliament, students can make suggestions regarding rules of conduct, safety, arrangement of school space, free activities, competitions, school events, choice of textbooks and other issues that affect their education. The parliament also participates in development planning and self-evaluation of the school's work.

Activities at our school

The student parliament of the elementary school "Kosta Đukić" participates in workshops, humanitarian, cultural and preventive activities, marking important dates and cooperating with student parliaments of other schools. The old school website records, among other things, the inter-school "Unity Day", a workshop on empathy and other activities dedicated to tolerance, cooperation and responsibility of students.
